Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Hill House is considered his greatest domestic design. This remarkable house is situated in Helensburgh, 10 minutes from Loch Lomond and 45 minutes from Glasgow city centre.
Working to a commission from Glasgow book publisher Walter Blackie, Mackintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald created almost everything you see here, from the building itself to the furniture and textiles.
The Hill House Box is a 10-year conservation project to save the building from the harsh weather conditions. The house is currently surrounded by a protective steel frame structure, which features walkways around and over the top of the house. This innovative project allows visitors to experience the house and Mackintosh’s design from a new perspective, as well as offering stunning views over the Clyde estuary.
Guests can enjoy exclusive access to the house and Box for guided tours, champagne receptions and intimate dinners. Our dedicated team will work with you to create a truly unique and unforgettable event.
