About this venue
Holmwood House is possibly the finest domestic design by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson, Glasgow’s greatest Victorian architect, the villa was built in 1857-58 for a local mill owner. Inside, visitors can see restoration work on Thomson’s rich neo-classical ornamentation and decoration and enjoy the attractive riverside grounds, audio tour and exhibition room.
Open 1st April -31st October from 12pm -5pm (closed every Tuesday & Wednesday). Holmwood House is an ideal venue for small intimate wedding ceremonies and champagne receptions for up to 36 guests. Exclusive hire is available during closed season. There is also a marquee site within the grounds.
