GOMA

GoMA is Scotland's most visited modern art gallery and home to the City's modern art collections.  Housed in an iconic building, GoMA is located in the heart of Glasgow - a city world famous for artists that live and study here.  An impressive range of artworks and exhibitions can be enjoyed by guests attending a function and as such, GoMA offers a dynamic combination of stunning architecture and cutting edge art for a unique event, including seminars, press briefings and drinks receptions.

Gallery One on the ground floor level is a generously proportioned area with a light and bright feel. The stone-floored area is ideally suited as a venue in which to host receptions, with the colourful and inspiring artistic displays providing interesting talking points for around 150 guests.

Gallery Two has the aim of providing an area of fluid motion. It is highly suitable for smaller receptions and private viewings. The gallery space, with its elegant Windows, flooring and contemporary exhibition design, is a very tranquil and stylish space in which to host an event for up to 100 guests.

Gallery Four is normally used to host temporary exhibitions and is therefore popular with corporate clients who wish to treat clients to a private viewing of the works of well known and topical artists. Another light and roomy area, this Gallery can comfortably accommodate around 100 guests for a reception.

Catering

A catering service can be provided by Encore Hospitality Services at the Gallery of Modern Art.

  • An interior view from GoMA shows a large, bright, white gallery space. There is evidently sky lights in the roof as well as spot lights in the ceiling. The floor is highly polished and dotted with plinths and brightly coloured sculptures. A pillar can be seen with interpretive text on it and further artworks can be seen on the walls. A doorway leads out of the room in the back corner of the space.

  • An exterior view of the Gallery of Modern Art and its position on Royal Exchange Square. The image shows a large sandstone building dominated by eight, 2-storey Roman composite columns. The building has a peaked roof and a Niiki de Saint Phalle mosaic can be seen in the gable end. The building is surrounded by a pedestrian square with grand Victorian buildings around it. At the front of the building a sculpture of the Duke of Wellington on a horse can be seen atop a large stone plinth.

  • An interior view from GoMA shows an oval space with a balcony in the centre of it. The landing is carpeted and has white walls. The balcony has an ornate black railing and a dark wooden bannister running around it. Various doorways can be seen around the perimeter. The ceiling has an ornate leaded glass oval, skylight at its centre, surrounded by a wide band of white floral plaster work.

The art installation covers the floor in a striped black and white pattern and concrete shapes and a colourful, wiry sculpture can be seen in the distance. Spotlights can be seen between the columns and the outer walls are uplit.
