Built in 1990 for Glasgow’s reign as European City of Culture, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall sits in an iconic position at the top of Buchanan Street right in the heart of the city’s bustling shopping district. Home to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Concert Hall is a multi-purpose venue, presenting a varied programme of music and cultural events as well as hosting exhibitions, conferences and meetings.

With many different rooms and breakout areas available, the complex can accommodate meetings and conferences from 12 - 2000 delegates.

The Main Auditorium seats up to 2000 delegates. It is an excellent venue for large scale conferences, with all delegates benefiting from good vantage points to the stage. 

The Strathclyde Suite can host a conference for up to 400 delegates theatre style.  As a self-contained room with flexible seating this is a highly sought after space able to host theatre and cabaret style and classroom layouts for examinations.  In addition, this room can also accommodate layouts suitable for shell-scheme exhibitions. 

The Exhibition Hall is a self-contained square room ideal for hosting a conference for up to 300 delegates. The hall has no fixed staging, allowing you to customise the layout to suit your needs. 

The Lomond and Clyde Foyers, Strathclyde and Island Bars are areas within the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall which can be used as breakout areas for larger conferences or independently for conferences and meetings on a smaller scale. 

The VIP Room is a smaller, self-contained rectangular room ideal for boardroom meetings for up to 12 people. In addition it can also host meetings with a theatre style layout for up to 30 delegates. 

The award winning City of Music Studio can be used as a location for a smaller scale conference.  Benefiting from a stunning view down Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, flexible seating options make the City of Music Studio suitable for small lectures, boardroom meetings and formal banquets. 

The Buchanan Suite is a self-contained rectangular room, seating up to 100 theatre style or 50 cabaret style.  The suite benefits from natural daylight by way of a concave panoramic window along the wall, overlooking the City of Music Studio which itself looks down onto an iconic view of Buchanan Street.

A full range of quality catering services can be provided by Encore Hospitality Services who have a full, permanent event catering base within the Royal Concert Hall.  We can supply standard AV equipment, technical, security support and advise on most other event-related services for your event at very competitive rates.

  • An interior image of GRCH's main auditorium from the back of the space, shows a stage surrounded by tiered seating over 3 levels. The stage and its surrounds are light wood while the carpeting and seating are furnished in deep red and black respectively. Lights can be seen across the ceiling and throughout the auditorium. The ceiling appears almost metallic and grilled, technical lighting and sound equipment are evident.

  • An interior image of the GRCH's Lomond Foyer shows a long, high-ceilinged corridor. A large, colourful fresco decorates the top half of the wall on the left of the corridor, while square pillars with polished stone bases punctuate the length. A long bar can be seen behind the pillars. On the right, exterior wall, windows run the length of the corridor with angular leather benches and polished stone surfaces just in front of them. A lift, a set of stairs and 2 doorways are also visible off of the foyer.
