The Citizen

An integral part of the city’s history, the Evening Citizen was a daily newspaper in the city for over a century. Today, the old offices and print rooms of the newspaper are home to a true taste of Glasgow. You can easily lose some time on the way to our restrooms, where headlines from old pages line the way and catch the eye.

You might fancy trying our sausage rolls - they’re pretty special. A pie and a pint? Our steak pie is stuff of legend. We take Scottish ingredients and do them proud, be it in a curry, burger or a fine piece of hake from the Atlantic.

Home to the freshest pint of Tennent’s lager in the city (outside of the Glasgow brewery itself) as we are the only bar to serve non-pasteurised, fresh Tennent’s lager fresh from the tank. Our private Bar and dining room, The Macallan Editor’s Suite, is home to a fine array of rare and exclusive whiskies. Many are on display in the glass lockers. If you are a connoisseur, this is one of the few places in the world you can order yourself a dram of The Macallan M.

Private dining is available in the Editor’s suite, our mezzanine also offers privacy from groups away from the main restaurant.
